I bought this last night. Been looking for a decent gaming laptop for a while now, after I learned the Lenovo T420 just won't cut it when it comes to games (even on LoL I had to put it on the lowest settings to get a decent framerate).
I was thinking about getting the Dell Inspiron 7559, since that seems to be a highly recommended budget gaming laptop, but the more research I did the more bad things I read (like they have good internals, but to bring the cost down they skimped out on the keyboard and touchpad and stuff like that). The idea of a cheaper gaming laptop was very appealing, since the GTX960M will handle most of what I like to play on the go, but not if that meant skimping out in some areas.
I went to Origin, but the shipping was going to cost $112 for basic shipping (I added in some accessories, the wooden crate, etc. so it was a pretty hefty package) and it wasn't even going to be ready to ship until 12/23. The thing I hate most about ordering online is the wait, so that was a deal-breaker.
So I got an MSI GE62 Apache Pro. $1,200. The Asus equivalent (same price, procesosr, size, and GPU) had 4GB less RAM, less cooling vents on the bottom, and a lower rating. I kinda wish I would have jumped on the Black Friday sale, because I could have gotten the GE62VR with a GTX1060 for only $50 more, but oh well, I snoozed and I lost, and the GTX970M is plenty for what I need it for anyways.
