Unless it’s the only place to get you’re education. Science, engineering and medicine aren’t best learned on the job (yes, at a point they are but only after appropriate didactic training) . Like in my case, it would be difficult for me to study anatomy and physiology without a classroom. I would need to go procure my own cadavers and that might pose some problems wheres with school I have access to a full lab.
I agree with you in regard to the people that attend college just to get any degree then never use it or in the case where there isn’t a practically applicable degree but for a number of careers there is certainly a need for a formal education but not necessarily a 4+ year degree.
